I hadn't taken any pictures today, so I had to find a willing subject at the last minute. Here's my buddy Tucker :)

Another late posting... We went to play in the sand Saturday morning. Bryson seemed to enjoy it and he didn't even try to eat much sand. We were going to play at the splash pad afterward, but the kiddo fell asleep before we got there. I had a real hard time picking which picture to post.

Well, we have at least one less rodent in the back yard. Poor little guy. RIP Mr. Rat :(
July 22, 2010
I took these pictures on the 22nd, but I'm just now posting them on the 23rd (I kept falling asleep last night). They are worth the wait, if I do say so myself ;)

Yikes!! Two days in a row without taking pictures!! I will take some tomorrow and finish the month out strong!! You know, it's actually harder to choose a picture to post when I haven't taken any that day (more options, I suppose). I took this one the other day while I was out in the backyard trying to get good pictures of the baby bird...

We had a kind of hectic day around here today, so I didn't get a chance to take any pictures. So, I'll just use a picture from Monday - I had more than one that I wanted to share anyway :)

Bryson and I went to visit Grams and Gramps this morning. We had a great visit and Bryson got to show off his crawling. And have you ever seen a baby ride a hippopotamus? Well, you have now:

Here's an extra-long post, with a story and lots of pictures :)
Jason was mowing in the back yard and he saw the little guy below running along the back fence. By the time he got me out there to take a look, our little feathered friend was seeking refuge in the corner of our fence.
After the mower had left the backyard, I thought I'd go back and see if Mr. Bird came out of hiding. He had, and he decided to run along the side fence up to the corner of the yard where the A/C unit is. There is also a pile of rocks up by the front fence. He hopped up the mountain of limestone and grasped on to the bottom cross plank. (This one is not great quality and I had to do a lot of editing just to get it bright enough to see).
Then the little guy fell :( We could see him from the front yard, but I was worried he would get stuck out on the wrong side of the fence - the rocks were blocking his way back.
So, Jason stayed in the front and blocked him in, while I went to the back to move some rocks. Then, with a clear path, Jason shooed him into the backyard. And he made his way to the bed under the tree where his nest is :)
We let the dogs out later and went out to make sure they didn't get him. We didn't see our birdie, so I hope he is okay. Jason did see a rat. Not our friend Mortimer the Mouse, but a big stinkin' R-A-T. Yuck.

I did not take any new pictures today :( So I decided I'd do something special for the blog. I present to you 1 month old Bryson:
And 8 month old Bryson:

Even though he's on the go, Bryson still has time to take a break and enjoy a good book. And, all I have to do to get this expression is say "Where is Bryson's smiley face?" (in a very special smiley face voice, of course). I love this little guy:)

I was sleeping. S-L-E-E-P-I-N-G!!!!! And somebody thought it was uber-important for me to wake up and do my blog. So here I am, typing with one eye open because I was SLEEPING!!! But I digress...
Bryson is getting more and more mobile. This evening, he was on the floor and Jason and I both went in the kitchen real quick and all of a sudden we heard music... (typeing with both eyees clowed now)... (sleeping)... (must insert picture)...
"My Mommy is Sleeping :)"
(and now this little cutie just woke up... did I mention I was SLEEPING?!?!?!?!?!)

Bryson and I did his 8 month "photo shoot" today. We got a couple of pretty cute pictures, which is really not surprising considering the subject ;) I let Jason pick out which one to post while I washed poop out of one of Bryson's outfits from today. How come I get all the fun jobs?!?! :-P

July 13, 2010
Yikes! I was lying in bed and realized I had not posted a picture yet today. I decided I couldn't let it lapse, especially since Jason was sweet enough to cover for me yesterday and keep my streak alive. Then I realized I hadn't taken any pictures today... but I have something better ;)
Bryson has been trying for several weeks to figure out this thing they call "crawling". Grams said this morning he took more than his typical 2 "steps" followed by a face-plant. Sure enough he had a couple more "long-distance" crawls throughout the day. We tried to catch a few on camera this evening but, of course, we missed most of the better attempts. And he kept getting distracted by his little four-legged friends (who will soon need to find their safe spots high up on the couch, I'm sure).
Here's a taste of what's to come, with a few giggles thrown in for good measure. Note to self: must work on baby-proofing this weekend!

This is Jason filling in for Jennifer tonight. She isn't feeling too hot and forgot to do her blog ! I thought I'd be sweet and keep the streak alive. Of course, I'm just posting an already taken picture, and it isn't edited to look all nice and pretty, but we'll still count it just the same!

We went to the park this afternoon. Had to take the 8 month old swinging for his month day :) Looks too much like a big boy in this one:

Bryson got a new toy today. Well, he actually got it at Christmas, and we just got it out and put it together today. It may still be a little early for it, but he seemed to enjoy it. He did a really good job of sitting on it and he would push up with his feet and rock side-to-side. When we switched it to a stand up and push toy, he had a hard time moving his feet fast enough (and this was with us restraining the speed of the vehicle). So, this will be a very closely supervised activity for a while. Guess who's 8 months old tomorrow:

Well, we had a good rain here last night and, when I was out with the dogs this morning, I was struck by the beautiful water drops hanging on to the Crepe Myrtle. I thought it was the perfect opportunity for the pic 'o the day. Unfortunately, it took a while for my lens to stop fogging up. Then I was having trouble getting the camera to focus on what I wanted it to focus on. I think I was too close to the subject or something.

In our house, after the baby is in bed, this is our most willing photography subject. Isn't she cute? She's a sweet puppy :)

Jason and I went out to dinner tonight to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the day we met. Each year we go to the restaurant where we met and reminisce about that fateful day. So, since we were all dolled up, we decided it would be a good opportunity to get a family photo. Now, I didn't actually take this picture, but I did do all the "hard work" of getting the settings dialed in, so I am going to let this one count for my "pic-of-the day":

I'm not a day ahead anymore, so the pressure is on :) I've been wanting to try to capture the motion of water and play around with shutter speed, so I decided to experiment a little during nap time today. I wasn't able to get many shots in before my little assistant woke up, so I'll have to try it out again soon. But here was one of the better shots from the experiment, I think:

Okay, I've determined that I will just stay a day ahead. It gives me a little buffer, too.
Bryson was "kicked out" of Sunday school for the second week in a row :( Poor kiddo, I think we are entering the separation anxiety phase or something - he calms right down the second they hand him over to me. And, actually, I don't mind the extra cuddles :) Does this look like a hooligan to you?

July 4, 2010
Well, I'm "cheating" again. I took this one on the 3rd, but I figure as long as I'm taking pictures each day, posting from the day before isn't bending the rules too much. And I make the rules anyway, right? ;)
We walked over to a nearby park to take in some fireworks. Bryson did well being out so late and really seemed to enjoy seeing the bright lights. He was not a happy camper on the way home until he was rescued from the stroller, but we made it. Hopefully he'll sleep well tonight and take some good naps tomorrow.
Anyway, here is my first attempt at taking pictures of fireworks. I think this is one of the better ones. I have a lot to learn and maybe a few new gadgets to invest in for next time ;)

July 3, 2010
Ok, technically, this picture was not taken on July 3rd. It was actually about 10:30pm on July 2nd. However, I am going to make an exception for this one, due to the nature of the subject matter. Below is a picture of our little friend. He has been hanging around our backyard for who knows how long... so much for the effectiveness of our three little terrier dogs. The good news is (we think) he is a mouse and not a rat. The bad news is, we were unable to catch him and, now that I've seen his cute little face, I won't let Jason put out the trap :) We'll figure out something.

July 2, 2010
Well, today's picture opportunity came easily and early. Jason had taken his car in for maintenance and inspection and they gave him a loaner car to use. Thanks to an unfortunate accident (the drink-spilling kind, not the vehicular kind), he came home to change clothes and we got to check out the spiffy car. I think Bryson likes it:

Whew. That was close. I remembered to take pictures today, but almost forgot to post my first picture for the month. But here it is. In the spirit of the World Cup, Bryson was practicing his soccer skills today:
